Starlight Data Engineer (SDE), designed as a replacement product for XEE, simplifies the process of retrieving and restructuring information prior to use with Starlight. In addition, SDE includes comprehensive functionality for enriching your information prior to use. For example, you can extract named entities (such as the names of organizations or people) from free-text or geo-encode place names so that their locations can be plotted on maps, greatly increasing the value of your data. SDE's modular design enables it to be easily integrated with legacy databases and SOA implementations.

Further, SDE presents a powerful graphical programming interface that enables even non-programmers to quickly create custom processing flows and see exactly what is happening to the data at each step of the process. SDE processors can also be configured to accommodate dynamically streaming data sources, such as RSS feeds. With Starlight SDE, you can not only access the data you need, you can increase its value and adapt it to your specific requirements.
